Responsibilities
- Helps oversee all daily banquet operations.
- Works with manager to perform daily inventory control checks.
- Assists manager with training and coaching all banquet team member to ensure a cohesive and consistent team.
- May assist with ensuring adequate staffing levels to support all banquet and event's needs.
- May attend and participate in weekly food and beverage meetings.
- Adheres to all Washington State Health and LCB regulations and guidelines.
- In conjunction with the manager, partners closely with clients, guests, and catering staff to produce exceptional events.
- Helps plan, coordinate and execute all catering events from start to finish and ensures the highest quality of product and service throughout.
- Partners with the Manager through the customer decision and relationship process.
- May coordinate with Food and Beverage to organize necessary banquet, kitchen and service staff.
- Maintain an excellent knowledge of food, wine, and spirits.
- Responsible for all cut offs of patrons.
- Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Exceptional guest service and communication skills required.
- One to three years supervisory experience required; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Seven to ten years' experience in the food and beverage industry or equivalent combinations of training and experience desired
- Must be customer service oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Ability to work in a challenging environment dealing with sensitive issues and maintain confidentially with strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain professional, courteous, and effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and outside business contacts.
- Proven intermediate skills in Windows, MS Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and experience with database systems. Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, charts, forms and other information and instructions.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and move heavy items (such as 180-pound kegs).
- Prior cash handling experience is desired.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class B gaming license from the Sillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Washington State Health Card (Food Worker Card).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Washington State Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) Class 12 Mixologist Permit.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. The position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires repetitive movement daily with sedentary work, occasional bending and crouching. There are no adverse conditions, but employees are exposed to tobacco smoke on a regular basis. This is a 24 hour, 7 days a week work operation.
