Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support, monitor, test and troubleshoot hardware and software problems pertaining to the LAN/WAN.
  • Recommend and schedule repairs to the LAN/WAN.
  • Install, test and implement network software and services, system administration and diagnostic tools.
  • Provide TCP/IP technical support for the organization’s critical routed/switched LAN/WAN activities.
  • Maintain the network.
  • Provide network orientation and assist in computer applications training when necessary.
  • Remain informed of changes in network system software and hardware requirements and make recommendations for future software and hardware purchases.
  • Administer and monitor the network, keeping system information up-to-date in a network log and ensure all components are operating correctly, i.e. cabling, hubs, switches, management modules, routers, as well as primary hardware and software.
  • Monitor the gaming network, ensuring system connectivity, interface gateway daily maintenance and ensure daily and monthly backup of essential data and deliver the tape to TGA when requested.
  • Establish and maintain network user accounts, both corporate and gaming (where applicable), passwords (if necessary), user environment, directories, and security.
  •  Report unauthorized network usage and security problems.
  • Administer, maintain and monitor the player tracking system software, ensuring user accounts and user rights are reflective of the authorization level assigned by the users’ manager and IC requirements and that required functions are performed to ensure system availability.
  • Ensure that access, including remote access, to the network or its components is granted only to authorized personnel and that access logs are maintained and reviewed.
  • Perform data backup and ensure data security procedures.
  • Respond to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to network resources and the operation of various software programs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures on all computer/network equipment.
  • Receive, prioritize and respond to Help Desk calls for problem resolution.
  • Work closely with all IT team members on assigned projects and tasks, assisting when necessary to quickly meet deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with Tribal, State, Federal, and NIGC regulations.
  • Ensure control/protection of company assets.

  • Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule and subject to change.
  •  Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional guest service skills required.
  • Associates degree in Computer Science or related field from a community college or other approved educational institution; and four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Microsoft network operating systems, Exchange server, SQL server and Remote Access Services.
  • CCNA/ASE Certifications or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation preferred.
  • Skill in effectively, communicating information through verbal and written correspondence to employees, managers, clients, customers, and the general public, including writing reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals.
  • Skill in solving practical problems and dealing with situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills.
  •  Skill in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditions.
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screen.


Certificates, Licenses, Regulations

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A/3 gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State.
  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent and/or CompTIA Network + certification or equivalent is preferred


Physical Demands and Work Environment

Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. The position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires repetitive movement daily with sedentary work, occasional bending and crouching. This is a 24 hour, 7 days a week work operation.
