Position Summary

The Slot Tech Manager is responsible for leading the Slot Technical team and ensuring optimal functionality, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of all electronic gaming machines (EGMs) and associated systems. This role includes day-to-day oversight of all slot tech operations, project management for installations and moves, and the development of staff to support a high-functioning and guest-focused technical department. The Slot Tech Manager works closely with Slot Operations and Slot Performance teams to support uptime, revenue generation, and exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of slot machines to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
    • Lead and train a team of slot technicians, fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and teamwork.
    • Manage inventory of parts and equipment, ensuring timely repairs and minimal disruption to operations.
    • Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers for equipment installations, upgrades, and technical support.
    • Ensure compliance with gaming regulations and internal policies related to slot machine operations.
    • Analyze slot machine performance data to identify technical issues and recommend improvements.
    • Work closely with the Slot Performance and Operations Managers to align technical strategies with overall gaming floor goals.
    • Work with the Director of Gaming on staffing, budgeting, and operational improvements.
    • Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan and reduce failures.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
    • 5+ years of experience in slot machine maintenance, repair, or technical operations.
    • Strong technical knowledge of slot machine mechanics, electronics, and software systems.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
    • Familiarity with gaming regulations and compliance standards.

Preferred

    • Experience with slot systems (Bally/L&W, IGT, Aristocrat).
    • CAD experience.
    • Proven track record of reducing machine downtime and improving technical efficiency.
    • Advanced knowledge of networking and server systems used in gaming environments.
    • Experience in a high-volume and/or tribal casino environment.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Regulations

 

    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A/3 gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

 

Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. The position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75-85 pounds. Requires the ability to walk throughout the building. There are no adverse conditions, but employee is exposed to tobacco smoke on a regular basis. This is a 24-hour, 7-day work operation.
